Field of activity:
Led a team, in creating customer value through customer service, cost reductions, quality improvements and new product development.
The team created and implemented corporate strategic plans including market analysis, competitive assessments, capital plans for cost reduction and new product initiatives and prepared business and product analysis for introduction of new products.
· Transitioned the sale of this private company to a public corporation
· Initiated and developed a new bonded magnet business
· Purchased a manufacturing facility in England to support the business growth of the European market.
· Led International Trade Commission (ITC) action against infringing foreign imports of company's patented products.
· Changed quality culture of the company, achieving ISO-9002 certification.
· Increased Rare Earth product line by focusing on high growth markets with special developed alloys. Targeted markets included industrial motors, medical, and energy conversion systems.
1981-1992: Crucible Materials Corporation, Vice President-Finance, MIS and Purchasing
Promoted to corporate responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, credit, and costing accounting, along with MIS and purchasing for the Magnetics Division.
· Initiated marginal costing/pricing to the quoting and accounting systems.
· Started consignment and JIT concept to improve inventory turnover.
· Maintained financial integrity of company assets and managed banking relationships.
1973-1980: Crucible Magnetics, Controller, Cost Supervisor
1969-1972: National Steel Corporation, Financial Analyst Responsible for the accounting and costing systems for a new startup plant to produce Aluminum rolls for the housing industry.
