APPLIED MAGNET TECHNOLOGY

Scientific And Technical Center "Vniinm-Progress,
Moscow, Russia

(A division of A.A.Bochvar All-Russia Research Institute of Inorganic Materials)

Field of activity:
· Development and upgrading of rapidly quenched magnetic powder production based on centrifugal atomization
· Manufacturing customized Nd-Fe-B alloys by vacuum induction melting including (by specific orders) production of pre-alloyed charge for sintered magnet production
· Manufacturing rapidly quenched magnetic powders based on Nd-Fe-B alloy system by centrifugal atomization
· Manufacturing bonded NdFeB magnets of any geometry by special soft-mud pressing of quenched powders

Method of Centrifugal Atomization of liquid NdFeB alloys for rapidly quenched powder production is a real alternative to well-known method of melt spinning improving cost efficiency of production and quality of products.

Various parameters of centrifuged quenched powders allow to apply them in both powerful and micro- magnetic systems for radioelectronics, electrical engineering and automatics, motor industry, medicine, computing engineering, manufacturing of various industrial and household devices.

Main original equipment of Center:
· Vacuum Induction furnaces
· Centrifugal atomizing units
· Vacuum rotating furnaces for crystallizing ("precipitation hardening") annealing of quenched powders.

The atomization is carried out in atmosphere of an inert gas.
